JaQuan Lyle

JaQuan Lyle is a college basketball at the Ohio State University.

Early Life and High School

Lyle was a star basketball player at Benjamin Bosse High School helped lift the Bulldogs to a semistate berth as a sophomore. Lyle was named second-team all-state by The Associated Press and was chosen as a core player for the Indiana Junior All-Stars. Lyle ranked No. 8 on the Evansville’s all-time scoring list with 1,440 points.

Lyle committed to Louisville prior to his senior year but rescinded his pledge two months later. He signed with Oregon after his year at Huntington Prep but fell short of the academic requirements. Lyle finally selected the Ohio State University after selecting Oregon, but then finally selecting the Buckeyes.

Recruiting Violations

A book titled “Breaking Cardinals Rules” published in October of 2015 by a former escort, Katina Powell, detailed nearly two dozen stripping and sex parties from 2010-2014 inside Billy Minardi Hall, an on-campus dorm for athletes and other students.

Lyle is one of the recruits listed in the book to have allegedly had sex during recruiting visits. While the Ohio State freshman guard is not allowed to comment on the ongoing investigation under NCAA rules, one of Lyle’s best friends and former high school teammates told 44Sports that even though he does not know the details of what happened, he knows Lyle did not do anything wrong.
