Location and Historical References

Penny Lane Coffehouse occupies an 1886 historic commercial building at 600 S.E. Second Street in Evansville’s Haynie’s Corner Arts District.

The building originally housed druggist William Levi Johnston’s pharmacy.

Penny Lane is a virtual labyrinth of comfortable nooks and crannies, perfect for long study sessions, conversations with friends or just a quite minute to yourself.

Framed with books and an eclectic collection of art, Penny Lane offers a unique feel that only a visit here can describe. The Penny Lane patio is often packed and on the front of the establishment.

Live Music

Penny Lane hosts regular poetry readings and musical performances and features local art along with shelves of books for its patrons to browse. It also features live music on most weekend nights. There’s no auditions, try outs or any other criteria. All artists get unlimited drinks free and a combo meal during their performance.
