Charlie Siesky spent 32 years as the mentor and coach for the Track and Cross Country programs for Harrison High School. The track facility at Harrison was named in his honor in January of 2013. Mr. Siesky compiled a track dual meet record of 198-14-2. His teams won 37 City meet titles, 33 SIAC meet championships, 29 Sectional crowns and 9 Regional championships. His teams also finished second in Regional competition three times and placed third on five other occasions. Harrison boys’ track teams won 68 straight dual meets between 1979 and 1992 and another 51 straight wins from 1970 to 1979. The Indiana Track and Cross Country Coaches’ Association named him to membership to the IATCCC Hall of Fame in their 2002 class of inductees. His overall winning percentage of 93 percent in dual meets still stands as one of the best in Indiana track and field history. In addition to the great team honors accumulated by Siesky’s Warriors, he coached and mentored three IHSAA individual state champions in Bob Winchell, Vaughn Wedeking and Don Sellers.
