    Herb Williams is a former basketball player at the University of Evansville and head coach at Idaho State University.

    Williams played high school basketball for Centralia High School. He then played college basketball for the University of Evansville.
    While at Evansville Williams was the leading rebounder on the 1965 undefeated NCAA College Division national champions. In 1967 he was named first-team All Conference for the Indiana Collegiate Conference.

    After college he became an assistant coach in Centralia for a few years, eventually becoming the head coach at Evanston High School near Chicago. In 1984 he lead Evanston to a second place finish in Illinois with the championship game being the only loss of the year.

    Williams was an Assistant Coach at Michigan State from 1984 to 1990, and Head Coach at Idaho State University from 1990-1999.
